Mike Alberts, MHC-A

“You are not alone in this. Whatever challenges you’re facing -whether in your relationships, personal growth, or recovery journey - there is a path forward, and I’m here to walk alongside you.”

My approach is rooted in deep listening—not just hearing your words, but truly understanding your lived experience. I work from a foundation of Solution-Oriented Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Narrative Therapy, integrating cognitive and behavioral interventions to help you reframe challenges and create meaningful, lasting change. Whether you’re navigating addiction recovery, relationship struggles, or a season of personal transformation, I provide a structured yet compassionate space for growth, clarity, and healing.

Before becoming a therapist, I followed a unique path that deeply informs my work today. After six years practicing law, I felt called to serve in a different way and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2005, where I served for seven years. That journey reshaped my understanding of purpose, resilience, and human connection, ultimately leading me to the field of mental health and substance use recovery. It’s within this work that I found my true calling—supporting individuals and families in reclaiming their lives and strengthening their relationships.

I am also HawaiÊ»i’s only CRAFT Certified Therapist, offering specialized support for families navigating the complexities of a loved one’s substance use.

Services include: Individual Psychotherapy, Substance Abuse Therapy Groups, CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) Support for Families, and Family Systems.
