René Connolly is the only Barre Intensity Certified Instructor in Hawai'i and is a pre-licensed mental health counselor. With certifications in Barre Intensity Interval Training, Advancing Cueing, Pre & Post-Natal Barre, and training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), René blends her expertise in movement and mental health to create a unique somatic practice for you.

8-Week Somatic Class: Integrating Breathwork, Stretching, DBT, and Barre-Based Movement

WEEK 1

Grounding and Connection to Breath

  • Theme: Rooting and Present Moment Awareness

  • Goal: Create a sense of stability, safety, and presence.

WEEK 2

Self-Compassion and Letting Go of Judgment

  • Theme: Acceptance and Non-Judgment

  • Goal: Encourage self-compassion and reduce self-criticism.

WEEK 3

Emotional Awareness and Processing

  • Theme: Identifying and Releasing Stored Emotions

  • Goal: Acknowledge and release physical tension related to emotions.

WEEK 4

Boundary Setting and Empowerment

  • Theme: Cultivating Inner Strength and Personal Boundaries

  • Goal: Empower students to create physical and emotional boundaries.

WEEK 5

Resilience and Adaptability

  • Theme: Flexibility in Body and Mind

  • Goal: Strengthen resilience and adaptability to change.

Centering and Self-Connection

  • Goal: Reconnect to one’s inner self and balance emotional states.
